entertaining hanna
If you have a dreamer in your life why not get them a gift this holiday season that helps them manifest those dreams into reality?

I've got a few dreamers on my list, and I'm thinking about getting them vision board software for the holidays. I have it and love it. You just install it on your computer... find images of things you love, want, or dream of, and it creates a vision board for you. It scrolls across your computer screen when you're in screensaver mode. You can also print it out as a poster to hang on your wall. I haven't used this feature yet (because I don't have an ipad lol) but there is now a way to put your vision board on your ipad and take it with you everywhere you go.

Vision boards are a great way to bring something concrete to a pretty esoteric idea like manfesting your reality. I love mine, and have had so many things become reality that were once just pictures on the board.

When you're buying a pet stroller for your pet you really need to make sure you take into account, not only the price, but the safety of the stroller you choose.

This has been a problem with the line of flexible handle pet stroller the market. Many people have had the zipper break, the wheels not work correctly, as well as having the stroller pull very hard to one side. This makes it very difficult to steer. You want to make sure that whatever pet stroller you choose for your pet, it's safe and will protect your pet while you're out and about.

There are plenty of high quality pet strollers available, including BestPet Strollers and Pet Gear Pet Strollers. You can even find well made pet strollers under $50. So don't think quality has to come at a price that is out of reach. Just do some research, check the reviews for each stroller you're looking at, and make sure you stick with the major brands. They have a proven track record of safety.

 A Ride On Toy:

Last year my daughter recevied the John Deere Ride On Gator. While I wasn't super keen on her getting a ride on toy, it's turned into one of her most prized possessions. She not only rides it around the yard, but she helps with gardening, and cleaning up the yard. It's great that she has a way to feel helpful, and it's great that now she drives weeds to the burn pile instead of me having to push them over in the wheel barrow.

Books:

This isn't that unique, but it is certainly a great gift. You can always make it unique by setting up a treasure hunt, and each book that is found gives a clue to the next one. You could also set them up with a book of the month club or something similar, so each month they get a new book to read.

Magazines:

Since my daughter was really young we've gotten her magazines. There are quite a few wonderful magazines for young children and preschool age children. They feature animals and other intersting subjects to keep your child interested. It's a great way to get your kids engaged in reading. The best part is they come through the mail. I can gaurantee your kiddo will end up waiting by the mail box for their magazines to get there. In a day and age when snail mail is dying what a great way for your child to receive some actual mail.

Memberships:

A great gift that will last all year is a membership, whether it's to the zoo or a science museum, or even your local botanical gardens. Memberships give you a big bang for your buck, and provide so the gift of you and your child spending time together, learning through the year.

One of the things that I find so frustrating is when I find a great article or blog post and there's no way to easily share it with my network. This seems to happen a LOT on blogger blogs ~ so I decided to write a post about how to add share buttons to blogger

Making it easy for your readers to share your stuff is huge. It's the easiest way to spread your content, get more links, and draw in more readers ~ whether it's sharing through twitter or facebook or even bookmarking your site... it's really important. :)

It's also a great idea to have a way for other people to connect with you on your blog. Adding social networking buttons to your blog is huge. It allows with people to connect with you on other platforms ~ giving you more opportunities to connect and develop your relationship with your reader.

4th-Feb-2011 10:31 am - Chicken Broccoli Alfredo
entertaining hanna
I found this recipe recently and really enjoyed it. Even though my husband doesn't really like broccoli the sauce made it good enough for him to eat. It's super simple, done in 20 minutes, which I love. :)

what you need:

8 oz of pasta (I love linguine or fettucine, but you can pick whatever you and your family like)
1 cup fresh or frozen broccoli flowerets
2 tbsp butter
1 lb boneless chicken breast, cubed ~ if you cut it while they're a little bit frozen it's much easier.
1 can cream of mushroom soup (cream of chicken works well too)
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup grated parmesan
salt and pepper to taste

Here's what you do:

Cook the pasta according to the package ~ it will take longer than the dinner so make sure you get the water boiling first thing so they'll come out at the same time.

Add the broccoli the last 4 minutes of boiling the pasta.

Heat the butter in a skillet (if you've got Emeril pots and pans even better) and add chicken. Cook until browned, make sure you stir it frequently.

Add soup, milk, cheese, and salt and pepper.

Drain your pasta and broccoli and add them as well.

Heat through and serve with a little more parm.

If you've got some nice crunchy bread and a salad you've got a full meal!

Enjoy!
